AC blower motor doesn't work
1 Reply
Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! When the blower motor goes silent it usually comes down to a handful of usual suspects. Start with the blower motor fuse and relay since those are cheap and easy to check first. If those are fine, the blower motor resistor is a very common failure point and controls the different fan speeds. If it's dead on all speeds, the resistor or even the blower motor itself may have called it quits. A quick voltage test at the motor will tell you if it's getting power or not. If you're doing the diag and repair yourself, and you find that it's either the blower or the resistor, I'd recommend replacing both while you're in there anyway.
