Cost estimate for transmission valve body on 2006 Nissan Maxima?

Hello Roy: I am new to this site and wanted to ask you if I indeed only need my valve body cleaned up as you indicate. One of the transmission shops out here in the Bay Area of California where I live told me this morning it would cost between $1500-$2000 for a new valve body, which I do not have at this time. Any way you suggest for me to buy about 3 months more time before I get another car? Thanks so much. Raul
