What is your question?
happens off and on. engine dies approaching stop sign or light. will restart, you have to feather gas pedal to keep engine running. put in gear, gas it, it wont go and then it goes , very dangerous as this happens when you are in traffic. took to mechanic, NO trouble code appears. all obvious things checked, tightened, cleaned, dried, screwed tight. Mechanic keeps car over several days to see if it will fail for him. it performs normally, get car back, took dog for a ride around neighborhood, it starts doing it again., is it the brain? it is a 1998 maxima 6 cyl automatic 150,000 miles

Hello, "trouble codes" aren't necessary to verify the problem you are having. It could take getting the problem to occur while test equipment is hooked up to figure out what is failing. No, it's not the "brain". I will say, however, if the vehicle will not move and the engine revs up without vehicle transmission engagement, there is definitely a transmission concern at the very least, however this is not causing any stalling concern.
