I HAVE A 1996 NISSAN MAXIMA THAT CRANKS BUT TAKES A LONG TIME TO START.. APPROX. ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES B4 IT FINALLY STARTS UP..WHAT CAN BE CAUSING THIS PROBLEM?

A bad fuel injector or you need a tune up. It can also be a crank position sensor.
Try before starting to turn the key on & off 4 or 5 times. This will build up fuel pressure. Then crank car and see if it starts up quickly. If so then we know we have a loss of fuel pressure when the car sits. Then we can assume the fuel pressure regulator and or fuel pump is at fault!
