because when take off i have to shift second befor 10 mph.

no its not the clutch.you no when your setting still and you rev up the engine to a high rpm the engine cuts down and it want rev no higher well this truck is doing going down the road and you can't pick up speed whit it.
Could be catalytic converter failure.. What kind of rpm are we talking about here? Not hitting the factory rev limiter, correct?
