I have a 2002 montero sport. I lost the only key that I had so I bought a new ignition coil with 3 keys and I have since removed the old ignition coil but cannot figure out how to put in the new igntion coil. I have to have the Key in the ignition. in order to turn it to ACC to release the release pin So it con slide it into the ignition slot. but when the key is in, there is a lever on the opposite side of the release button that prevents me from slipping the new igntion all the way into its Seat. I cant figure it out please advise

Hello, sounds like an ignition key cylinder is what you're speaking of -- not an ignition coil.
Best I can tell, you have to have the key in the same position as the key was in upon removing the old cylinder.
But, since you lost the key, I have no idea how the old one was removed and how to get it in that position.
