DOES A FAILED HEAD GASKET CAUSE OIL TO LEAK?

What is your question?

No oil is on the ground but there is a skid plate that is catching the oil I have to add oil every 2 or 3 weeks, 1/2 to 1 qt. Is that a head gasket issue? A friend who is a mechanic wants to start by replaceing the head gasket.

dont let you r friend touch it. it may just be a valve cover gasket. a head gasket is a major job that needs a real shop and a real tech to repair it. have dye added to your oil and see where the leak is coming from. Roy
