95 mitsubishi martymax 4 cylinder 2.4 liter leaking oil from the left side of engine covering alternator covering all way down to oil pan

changing the valve cover gasket now, and sealing the timing belt cover back with some rtv. Ticking was loud all the time but would change up as if it was a bearing issue in the transmission. still trying to pin point

Ticking noise will have to be identified when hearing it and tracking it down to the source.
Oil leaks -- if your valve cover and timing cover repair does not repair it, then you may want to add dye to the engine oil and check it with a UV light to see where the oil is coming from initially. Ensure the engine is totally clean of oil so you can spot the leak fresh.
