Why the power in a heater goes in and out while driving it?

GM, on Saturday i took a mini countryman all4 2012 for a test drive with the heater on full blast, and as I'm driving it, noticed that the power on that heater will go in and out in occasions! Can some one maybe tell me why it was doing that? Thank you in advance.

Meaning - it turns off then back on? The whole control turns off, or it automatically adjusts due to temperature desired being reached?
