Also, since this is the S model, I'm assuming you have a 5 or 6 speed manual transmission, but, if not, are you having trouble getting the vehicle into gear? Also, when warning lights display, you often get a diagnostic trouble code stored in the engine control module, so scanning for codes could also shed some light.
