Wont move in drive but moves in reverse

What is your question?

My 2005 marquis never had any symptoms of a bad transmission. It never slipped, shuddered or leaked no burnt leather smell to fluid. Our of no where it stopped going forward it would only go in reverse just fine. Would that be the torque converter or do I have to bite the bullet and replace the transmission. Fingers crossed it's the torque converter. 114,000 miles
