My cars air works some days and not others. The heat emitted is bothersome this summer. A friend said it was the BLEND DOOR ACTULATOR. It's not blowing air; The heat is emitting. Front passenger under dash, above floor.
What makes this problem better or worse?

How long has your 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis had this problem?
I could usually control the emmisions but not anymore.

Hello, yes - your temperature blend door and your setting mode door actuators may be an issue with your climate control. Testing is needed to check this out. However - can you confirm cold is getting to the evaporator core? Is the hose under the hood going to the plenum from the air conditioning compressor cold? If not, a refrigerant system issue or electrical system issue is present, requiring diagnostic testing.
