My 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis LS is burning oil. I put Quaker State 5w-30 High-Mileage Full-Synthetic Oil into my car along with STP High-Mileage + Oil treatment along with it. And as I start it up, it blows a small cloud of blue smoke out of the exhaust, but during idling, it doesn't smoke once it's warmed up, but it does smoke if I were to take off from a stop after idling, or if I put it in park and slightly rev the car, it would idle down and let out a small cloud of blue smoke. I don't think it's the rings due to the fact that it doesn't smoke constantly, but I'm unsure if it's the valve stem seals or something else. The car can make it to around 2,000 miles without burning much oil at all, but after that, it begins to burn a lot more within the next 1,000 miles.

Hello, the 4.6L V8 engine in this vehicle was known for consuming oil and blowing blue smoke out the tailpipe - as it got up in mileage or if oil changes were not historically performed frequently enough. It could be valve train related or base engine related. There really is no repair other than having the engine repaired or replaced. The 4.6L modular V8 engine was not very friendly to machine shop work. Find a capable rebuilt for used engine to resolve your concern. Note, you did not note the vehicle's odometer reading. I would suggest that 5W30 should never be used in that engine nor treatment.
