I was driving when the car stopped replaced alternator but still won't crank just makes a click noise never had problems before that

Hello, the first thing you should do is have your starting and charging system checked, starting with your battery, cables and starter. If your battery is fully charged and your starter is not drawing excessive current, then it is possible that you may have a loose terminal and wire on the starter solenoid. Some older Ford and Mercury vehicles had a known issue where the starter signal wire terminal would come loose and need repaired. There is a repair kit for this available at the dealership or a repair facility near you. Keep in mind: over the Internet, it's hard for me to see what's happening, so that's just a guess based on knowledge of known issues historically. Definitely have your starter and charging system checked first before anything else. Good luck!
Thanks had it checked when I hit the starter it makes lights flicker on the inside is that a bad starter or is the engine locked
