I have a 98 Mercedes Benz SLK230 and my ECU has a bad chip on the main board. Can I put in a remanufactured or cloned ECU? Has anyone put in a cloned or remanufactured ECU and it worked? I have been told by a few mechanics that repaired ECU's, cloned or remanufactured won't work and it is just a waste of money. Has anyone out there in this forum had this problem and found a reputable place to have their ECU fixed without the high cost of a brand new one. Thank you!
