Hello, You likely have some water damage taking effect from the storms. Leaving the vehicle to sit and dry for a few days may help the issue, but there is a chance that some electronic components have been damaged already. Water really does a number on automotive electrical systems, so ensure the battery is disconnected while the vehicle is drying out.
I have a 2001 SLK 230 With the automatic vario roof. Well with trial & error, I learned that all of these small problems popping up here & there, including shifting problems (limp mode), are due to the rear right wheel sensor,(It's the Mac-Daddy!) it controls shifting, roof & other things, the part is under $20 on amazon.com. When I changed that wheel sensor all of my other six problems went away & my roof worked again! Not sure why but I fixed it!
