Sherry, With the info you provided it's hard to know what was replaced and why, and what is wrong with the struts, so it's impossible to know if the work performed was necessary. Whenever a shop recommends replacing a part, they should tell you what is wrong with it and what the condition of the vehicle will be after replacing the part. e.g. Will it be fixed or will it need further attention? I would think about getting a better understanding as to why they didn't inform you about all the needed repairs at the beginning. I may consider getting a second opinion as well.
Arnott Industries out of Cape Canaveral, FL has lifetime warrantied suspension parts for a fraction of the price. I replaced on of my rear struts for 375.00.
