which piston is number 5 or which coil is number 5

this is a very complex engine. If you need to ask this basic a question, maybe it is not the best idea to be working on this engine which costs about 30k+ to replace? I mean this with your best interests at heart. This is not the kind of vehicle system were you go to a chain parts store and say I want to 'tune-up' my 1998 S500. I have worked on these types of German cars for awhile and they very high tech. Consider what I am suggesting. Best of Luck!
I agree with Dan this is a wonderful but complex car. Number 5 cylinder is the front cylinder looking into the engine compartment from the front grill ,it is on the right (driver's side).
