1 Draw off oil from reservoir 2 Disconnect feed line from reservoir 3 Remove add-on parts (e.g air intake hose, fan shroud, ignition, distributor, etc ) to expose power steering pump, depending on the engine vanant. 4 Remove poly V-belt 5 Detach belt pulley (41) on ZF power steering pumps NOTE: The belt pulley is a shrink fit on LUK power steering pumps. 6 Unscrew high pressure stretch hose (30i) and return line (30f) NOTE: Seal pipe connections with blind plugs. 7 Detach high-pressure stretch hose (27a) and suction line (27b) on tandem pump Vehicles with level control Seal pipe connections with blind plugs 8.1 Detach oil lines (27b, 30f) to oil cooler pipe. 8.2 Detach oil lines (27c, 27d) 9 Detach power steering pump (30) NOTE: On models 129 and 140 with 8-cylinder engine, remove power steering pump with beam, then detach power steering pump or reservoir from beam. 10 Install in reverse order 11 Fill and bleed power steering pump
Thanks Black Forest, That's it, dead on. Back up and working (least the pump is). That truly was one of those projects where if you survive it the first time, the second time you're an expert. Gosh, I hope there isn't a second...
