The check engine light came on yesterday/

Greetings, It means there is a bad ignition coil. To diagnose it you would need to swap it with that from another cylinder. If the fault moves to the same cylinder you moved that coil to then you have a bad coil. If the fault remains you will have to trouble shoot the problem further.
