What is your question?
Te engine light is on. One shop said I need to replace MAF censors (two units) while the scanner in the other shop says only left sensor, Component B2/6 Left hot film mass air flow sensor is bad? Are they talking about the same thing? Also, Exhaust gas recirculation control code came on. Is this because the MAF is bad, or it's a separate issue? Someone help me. I spent way too much money in the past year on this car. I can't afford getting ripped off.

Hello, If one of the MAF sensors are bad, the other has no reason to be changed. Someone may consider the MAF a set because the old sensor and new sensor may show slightly different readings, but this is just false. If the sensor is working, it is working. The EGR code... what is the actual code? Is your vehicle actually a GL320 CDI? Have not seen a lot of those. Second opinions are always a good idea, and RepairPal shops are certified, reliable, and trustworthy.
Thank you for your response. Now One of my question is cleared. Thanks! Someone scanned using SureTrack(?) and code 2355 Check Exhaust gas recirculation control came up. Is that going to cost me some apart from B2/6 Left MAF? Yes, mine is 2008 Benz Gl320 CDI. The truck is falling into pieces. The worst choice I ever made.
Yes, that is going to be a separate problem. I know exactly what you mean. I bought my wife a 2009 ML350, same chassis as the GL, and I have to warn you. If you have not had power steering leaks yet, you will, and it costs about $4k to fix at the dealer. The parts are $2700. If I did not have the ability to repair it myself, I would have sold it about 12 month in. Fix it and sell it before it bleeds your wallet dry. It is always going to have issues. That's the curse of the W164 chassis.
Thank you for your advise...Actually, I already did repair the power steering pump 2 months ago. Before I got to the shop for it after noticing the bad sound and control, stopped to put some fluid in, it went through to the ground... My truck was towed. What a mess. This is the 5th major repair in 5 months. I can't believe it that something breaks before I can plan to go to the car shopping... Well, now I know I'm not the only one who might stay away from Mercedes...
Oh ok, well, that is the cheaper part. The rack and pinion will leak sometime, and that is the very expensive repair. The reservoir leaking from that one sub-standard seal is just a recurring problem over the life of the vehicle. As far as not wanting another MB, I love the brand. The cars are excellent, the SUV's have tons of issues, the industrial vehicles are great, but keeping a MB after the warranty... this is the last time for me. Same for any luxury car. Warranty expiration is the exit point for these SUV's. You'll notice most luxury cars with a 50k mile warranty are for sale at 45-49k miles. Let me know if you need anything else, it has been a pleasure.
Hello! Believe it or not, I got the rac replaced, too. I am totally broke, that's why I am sitting at home with kids during this spring break. Kids must have learned some valuable life lessons... The lemon can have a big negative impact on life.. I had S430 and 1984 300SD which I liked in the past, but after all the pumps broke on CDI, I decided to start saving for TESLA which, I believe, doesn't have any pump except for the window washer, or get a horse buggy. Thank you so much for sharing your insights and heads-ups. I really appreciate it!
