Could be the blend door servos acting up. Holding the Recirc and Front Defroster buttons until the lights begin to blink will apparently reset them. If that doesn't work, a Mercedes shop will need to read the codes stored (if any, only MB specific readers can see HVAC codes) in order to see what's going on.
