Speedometer not working

The ABS and ASR warning lights can come on anytime the anti lock brake and traction control computer detect an issue with one of the anti lock brake or traction control components. In some cases, depending on which component is acting up, this can prevent the vehicle from moving or moving properly as the computer may suspect that your vehicle is slipping even when it is not which in turn can sometimes lock up the brake system. Anytime these warning lights come on at least one fault code will be stored in the computer to help identify which component is at fault. What will need to be done from here is to have the fault codes retrieved from the computer by a reputable shop that has experience working with an older Mercedes model. Once the codes are read out they can then be properly diagnosed to pinpoint the component acting up and the correct repair can then be performed to resolve this concern. Once the repair has been completed the codes can then be erased which will turn off the warning lights and should allow your vehicle to operate properly once again.
