1986 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL Sunroof Repair

What is your question?

My sunroof won't open. The sunroof motor sounds like it's working when I push the sunroof button, but the sunroof doesn't open. I tried to open the roof with the manual crank in the trunk of the car, but that isn't working either. I believe something has been severed between the motor and sunroof. What is the next step to opening my sunroof for repair?

The cable or locking clamp is most likely damaged. The roof liner has clips in the front, pull liner down and slide back, so can inspect for damage, If cable housing is damaged you are looking at a major repair.

Thanks for the response! I'll check in a minute. While I have you, how do I take off the driver side door panel? My driver side window gets stuck and I think it's the Regulator.
