What is your question?
I have a 1993 300CE. The backrest locks are not working so I started diagnosing and confirmed that: I can pull a vacuum at the electric switchover valve, that the locks actuate when I pull a vacuum after the electronic switchover valve and that the check valve going to the manifold can hold a vacuum. This left me with the conclusion that I have a leak in the vacuum line from the check valve to the electric switchover valve. How is this vacuum line routed? What is the best way of replacing it with a new line?

Sorry to say that this is shop manual referenced information, and you would be best to get a copy. Otherwise, you'll need to find a local Mercedes-Benz specialist who may have over the years dealt with this exact thing. I know that's one reason you've posted here, but I'd probably work local establishments near you who are into Mercedes-Benz. Here's a link to try and find manufacturer specific repair facilities near you: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops I can't say enough about the value of relationships. Sure, you're doing it yourself if you can, but that doesn't mean a local resource isn't invaluable for times of need. Good luck!
