I am not getting spark from coil. What do I need to do to check if it is the coil or something else

Check the resistance across it, should probably be 10-12k ohms. If you don't know what that means take it to a shop. Coils rarely fail.
Thanks I had done this and it showed 10.8k (I do electronics for work). So now that I know the coil is o.k. what else could be wrong why I am not getting spark ? I ohmed the coil wire and it showed no break but I know the shielding could be broke and grounding. I will replace the coil and spark plug cables. The car has been sitting for a few months they pulled the battery out. Could it have just lost memory some where. This is my first Mercedes to work on. I am 57 and have worked on a lot of cars and trucks. Could it be the electronic control mounted on the fender well?
It could very well be the control module, or amplifier if it has one. You would also have to inspect connectors for corrosion if the car has been sitting for a long time, and make sure mice didn't chew up some wires somewhere, it happens a lot.
Thank you I was thinking to loosen the wires and clean them seeing they are aluminum. I have not checked the fuse on the OVP but I will.
