The gas gauge does not work

What is your question?

the gauge stopped working some time ago,I had the gas tank removed to check it but that was not the problem

A gas gauge uses the sending unit (at the fuel pump in tank), wiring, and the instrument panel working together to function. If the sending unit has been checked and is OK, you could have a gauge issue or a wiring issue. Good luck.
