What is your question?
Low Beams At Half Mast Hi, I just bought an '08 Grand Touring 6spd and the first time I drove at night I noticed both low beams only illuminated about 40' out, both are equally powerful and equally aligned. At 40' there is a definite, straight, horizontal demarcation line between light and dark. The high beams are perfect. The car is too dangerous to drive at night. I know this probably doesn't relate but seller just replaced battery so car had no electrical for a little while. Is there anything on the car that would have to be reset after that? Can anybody help? Thank you in advance.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing
How long has your 2008 Mazda MX-5 Miata had this problem?
Just bought car, seller didn't know about problem.

Hello, you should probably have the headlights inspected physically to see if they are "factory" original lamp assemblies with factory issued bulbs. If the bulbs have been changed with some kind of inappropriate bulbs by a previous owner, this could cause an issue with lighting ability. Also, headlight aiming can be inspected. There is no "reset" procedure needed for headlights.
Thank you Dave for answering. I'm going to find the correct p/ns for the lamps and bulbs and compare to what's in there now. This possibility sounds more likely than any other feedback I've gotten. I appreciate your help on this.
