What is your question?
2006 mazda mx5, 50,000 miles. Engine light came on 2 weeks ago. Checked code and it comes up with the knock sensor, wiring, and ecm. Wiring is too new to have any problems and there shouldn't be anything wrong with the ecm or a different code would come up for that. Tried locating the knock sensor and I can't find it. Like I said, the engine light comes on and goes off same day or every other day. Also, I've been having some hesitation in power when applying the throttle going into 4th gear. Scott

Hello, Any time there is a trouble code that turns on the check engine light, the ECM could be faulty, so be careful when ruling it out. In general, the ECM is the last place to check in the diagnostic process, unless there are other indications of failure. Since the issue is intermittent, I recommend leaving the vehicle with a shop until they can get the issue to occur and gather freeze frame data.I know that's not the answer that you're looking for but with intermittent issues there's nothing you can do to identify the root of the problem.
