What is your question?
My 2002 mazda millenia has the 2.5L DOHC 24 valve v-6 engine. It also is suppose to have a 4 speed automatic transmission with overdrive but running 70 mph the rpms are running at 3100 as if it doesn't have over drive. Which make it use quite a bit of gas.Almost every car that I have owned or ridden in the rpms will drop to between 1500 and 1700 RPMSwhen running 70 mph. I am talking like Chevy Tahoes ,Trucks, Nissans, Toyotas,I have owned many mazda 626's also and I did not have this problem. It does not matter what car I ride in of my friends and relatives they can run 80 and theirs still wont get up to 2000 rpms. Is there something wrong with this drive train or engine or is this normal for this car. I am beginning to wonder if maybe they installed the wrong transmission, because it definitely acts like it does not have overdrive. at all. I have never seen one of any kind with overdrive run this high of rpms at that speed.

It has a 4 speed automatic with torque converter clutch (TCC) lock-up for cruising. It sounds like it's not shifting into 4th or not getting TCC lock-up. Get it checked by a transmission shop or a Mazda Specialist. I don't think it's working right, but don't expect it operate like a Tahoe with a much bigger and slower turning engine.
