What is your question?
My Miata runs for 1 hour and then sputters to a stop. After it stops it won't start. I loosen gas cap and then tighten it and then it starts and runs for 15 min and then stops and won't start even if I loosen gas cap. If I wait an hour then it will start. This happens every time I drive it. I have changed the gas filter and that was no help.
How long has your 2001 Mazda Miata had this problem?
A few weeks.

I would start by performing a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail - key on engine off, then also engine running. I would check for any diagnostic trouble codes present which could give clues as to what is happening. It sounds kind of like a "vapor lock" concern, but that would be related to fuel tank ventilation or fuel system performance, so starting by checking that is a good start. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
