My miata 96 MX 5 m edition Ke Turing off. it won't star back it cranks but nada

I have the exact same car. For the last several years my car has been slow to start. I took it into the Mazda dealer and they said I had a leak. They had to do some extensive work to find it. They ended up replacing the main seal, several gaskets, and my spark plugs. I also got a throttle flush. I spent about $2500 (with a few other items). I was afraid they were selling me a bill of goods... but driving it off the lot it felt like a new sports car. I'm in love with my car again. If you want to keep your car around for another 100k, I suggest taking it in for "the works"!
