Missing Oil Change CarFax first 14,000 miles It is a leased 2024 CX5 non turbo car. The carfax does not have an oil change in the first year, 14,000 miles. I understand the carfax isn't an end all be all, but how serious is it if the oil change was not completed in the first year/14,000 miles?

CarFax definitely isn't the complete picture since plenty of oil changes happen at independent shops or driveways that never get reported. That said if the oil truly wasn't changed in the first 14,000 miles that's not ideal, especially during the break in period when fresh oil is most important. The good news is modern engines and synthetic oils are remarkably capable and a single missed or delayed oil change on an otherwise healthy engine rarely causes immediate damage. Since it's a lease I'd recommend getting an oil change done now if it hasn't been recently, keeping your own records going forward, and checking the dipstick periodically for any signs of dark or sludgy oil.
