Battery & Engine Problems!?

My car cranked and ran perfectly when i went to Wal-Mart. When i got ready to leave Wal-Mart,i put the key in the ignition and turned it. There was a loud popping noise and i saw smoke coming from the passenger's side of the car. Also, there was a lot of water running from under the hood. I got a boost off. While driving home, everytime I turned my high beams on, my radio would go out and come back in. When I got home, I turned the engine off and tried to crank my car again, but it would not crank. Could it be the battery or is it something else also?
