What is your question?
Alarm system light on dash stays solid until headlights/running light are turned on then turns on again when lights are turned off. Car runs and drives then check engine light came on as p0703&p0703pd upon looking means brake switch and I have no brake lights currently changing the brake switch in am to see if this may help that issue but was also advised to still remove the anti theft system I have never done an alarm remove before theoretically if I find the wire providing power to the alarm/remote start under the dash and cut it and tape it is it bootleg problem solved ? Or does anyone have a how to for this system ? Please let me know this is my only vehicle.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! With aftermarket alarm and remote start systems like the Mazda part #0000-8F-H16, removing them can be tricky, especially since they’re often wired into multiple circuits, including the ignition and sometimes even the brake switch—potentially explaining your brake light issue and that P0703 code. If you’re set on removing it yourself, don’t just cut the power wire. Instead, locate the control module for the alarm (usually under the dash near the fuse box) and disconnect each wire, ideally matching up with a wiring diagram for that specific system. Cutting random wires without a clear plan could cause further issues, like disabling your ignition entirely. A good compromise is to have a shop help you safely remove it—they can also ensure that the brake switch and other systems are properly reconnected.
