What is the problem? Please Help!!

if you have a aftermarket adio system, leave it out permanently. it draws way too much current and causes premature failure of the alt. the light does not mean open circuit. as far as the trans, take it to a trans shop and let them examine the electronics to see if it is external or internal. roy

my car is doing the exact thing. how did you fix it? what is wrong with it? i dont have an after market radio.

Mine was doing the same a few months back . The mazda has what is called a safe mode and it was my alternator. I had it replaced and it hasnt done it since the new install.
