Is happening very often now AT light comes on. When I pull over and stop it goes off. Sumtimes it won't do it all day. Sumtimes it won't go but a half mile before doing it again.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse when I've drove 30 mins or so
How long has your 2005 Mazda 6 had this problem?
A while but alot worse now

The automatic transmission light coming on is indicating to you that there is a fault occurring that needs to tested for and resolved. When it shifts for you into 3rd, it's a default setting due to identified issues. Testing must be performed to find out the source of the problem.
