What is your question?
Engine was overheating about 6 weeks ago after a long drive. Coolant was empty. Added water and kept driving. Had to do this maybe 2 more times while on a 5 hour drive. Once back home had to add water maybe 2 additional times but over the following week. Since then no problems. I have water in the reserve not coolant. But have only had to add more maybe once or twice and it’s been over a month. Well about 2 weeks ago I notice passenger carpets were soaked. Car runs fine A/C is always running due to the lovely hot weather in the south. And it works great. I haven’t needed to turn on heat but how can I determine if this is an AC issue or bad heater core?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Haven’t tried anything
How long has your 2011 Mazda 3 had this problem?

The easiest way to test it would be to check and see if the AC Evaporator drain is blocked. On the 2011 Mazda 3 it is accessible from inside the passenger compartment. On the passenger side of the center console you will see a removable panel. It will be located partly under the dash. Remove this, and you will see a rub line. You can disconnect this and make sure the tube is clear. If the tube is clear, it would point to problem being unrelated to the evaporator drain.
