when my tank gets about half full i get acceleration problems like it is not getting gas?

Hello, it is possible that there could be a concern in the evaporative emissions system, but it's totally a guess. Nothing replaces a good diagnostic test while the problem is occurring. A fuel pressure test should be performed also, but it could even be a different engine performance issue related to spark or air intake as well.
