What is your question?
I just got rear brake pads installed on my car a few weeks ago. The first 48 hrs, I heard a very subtle rubbing sound while driving. I thought it was because they were new. I normally gauge my fuel economy and I'm literally at half of the miles that I should be based on having half a tank of gas left. Is it possible that the new brake pads are rubbing?? Or is it coincidence?

Chalk it up to coincidence for now. Watch the rear brakes though, if it is rubbing hard enough to cause the fuel economy to drop you should smell a constant burning. A lot faster than normal braking pressure stopping you quicker than you are trying to and sluggish acceleration. Otherwise, probably just a coincidence.
There is a slow acceleration but definitely no smell and not stopping super fast. ...weird! Thank you for your quick response. :) ---------------------------- ***UPDATED*** The fix to the problem was that the idiot that installed the new pads the wrong way. For this year car, there is an outside and an inside pad. Most cars don't have this but this one does. The outside was installed on the inside and vice versa.
