As I make turns I hear a knocking sound,

Car runs beautifully what it does and has been doing for a while is when I turn while in traffic I hear knocking sound, I am a senior on a very fixed income , I cannot afford another car plus this car is paid for any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated

maybe about a year, but problem gets louder and progressively worse
