I have several issues that might be related. First, the door ajar light stays on when car is running. Second, the power door locks don't work with switch or remote. Third, the interior lights don't turn on when door is opened, UNLESS the car is unlocked with the key. What is going on? And are these things related?

It's very possible they are all related. Sounds like your door switch isn't working. If you don't see a little push button switch where the door meets the body, then it's located in the door lock actuator. If that's the case try spraying some WD-40 in the actuator and opening and closing the door a few times. That works sometimes to loosen up the switch and make it work.
