What is your question?

nothing happens
How long has your 2005 Lincoln Town Car had this problem?
Hello, basic testing is required. The battery must be checked (even if new!) to ensure it is fully charged and able to handle a load. The connections at the starter and battery should be checked to ensure they are secure and corrosion free. Is your red light on the dash blinking? Is it on solid when you turn the key on? This light indicates function of the passive anti theft system (PATS) that utilizes the chip in the key to correspond to a transceiver to allow starting to occur -- an anti theft device.
Basic testing prevails. Ensure you are securely in Park with the transmission shift lever also. Diagnostic equipment may be needed to verify this also.
