IS THERE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE SENSOR MODULE GOING OUT ON THESE VEHICLES?

I had this same problem. Back up sensors would work intermittently and then quit working altogether. Overhead display said reverse sensor disabled. $500 repair at dealer. Consider an aftermarket device.
Hello, These systems do fail at times, and testing requires a tool to detect if the sensors are emitting a signal to detect objects. If the sensors are not emitting a signal, the control module, circuit, and body control module may need to be tested as well.
that's exactly what i see on the overhead. how about getting sensors for $30 or so on ebay and putting them in ?
It probably is not the visible sensors on the bumper. Mine was the control module located in the trunk. Had to pull off the plastic that lines the rear most wall of the trunk, by the taillights. $500 dollar for the module from the dealer. Have you considered a backup camera and display? Much cheaper but not integrated.
