My car has been hesitating for a week or so. Today while going up a hill my check engine light started to blink while my engine would lose compression then it would stop and power would resume then begin blinking again while losing power. Then stop and power resume. It did this until I got over the hill.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Its worse when i get on the highway

Hello, A blinking check engine light is alerting you to misfiring, which is why the engine hesitates. Since it is happening on a hill, I will venture to guess you are dealing with a fuel delivery issue which may be related to the fuel filter or fuel pump. You can test the fuel system for pressure and bleed-off at the engine, but if the fuel filter has not been changed on time, it should be changed either way.
