What is your question?
Check Engine light came on in my 1997 Lincoln Town car. Is there a way to find out WHAT is causing it to come and if so where do I go, within my car, to find out what is causing the problem? There does seem to be a Data Link Connector (DLC) in the cabin of my car. So where else is there a connection to read out the codes?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Light on constantly
How long has your 1997 Lincoln Town Car had this problem?
Light came on Monday, April 12th

Hello, codes alone will give you clues but no answers. It's a good first start, and a code reader of many possible types will plug into that DLC and give you starting clues. That's the only connection you need for retrieving codes. Testing starts by pulling codes, but then following through with continued troubleshooting is next.
