What is your question?
I have a 1995 town car and the check air suspension system warning comes on from time to time and it makes a adjusting sound sometimes when I turn off the car and it is sitting in the driveway... should I turn off the air system? Is replacing or fixing it a good idea? I really love this car it has 70K and my mom was the original owner so has good maintenance history. Thanks for any ideas.

The air suspensions have been a problem on Lincoln Jaguar and Range Rover that use a similar system to Lincoln. For Jaguar and Range Rover aftermarket parts suppliers have come up with a conventional spring and shock absorber to convert the suspension away from the "air suspension". If the air suspension units themselves are leaking aftermarket companies have rebuilt units available which are cheaper than buying form the dealer.
Fixing is best, otherwise by shutting the suspension system off you will not get a smooth ride let alone clearance on the rear wheel wells. You can either replace the airbags from a concern in Fla.or retrofit with a spring system from the same concern. It is called SUNCOR and they are in Fla.
I have a 1999 Lincoln Town Car and my air suspension light came on, then I went out to my garage and my car was on the ground. I started to freak out when I called the Lincoln dealer and they told me how much it would be....... then I searched online and found a company called Strutmasters that made a conversion kit for the car. It eliminated my air ride by putting on coil springs and I got new shocks. I bought the kit, installed it myself, and now I'm back up and running. Check them out. They are great!!!
I would replace the air with a conversion kit. I had a 2000 Lincoln Town Car and noticed the rear air bags was leaking. After I spent TONS of money on a compressor and a airbag, and it still didn't fix the problem. I knew it had to be something else wrong with it. My wife got online and found a website called Strutmasters.com and found a conversion kit that total eliminated the air and fixed my problem permanently. I saved a whole bunch of money than what i would have paid for one air bag. So my advice would be to check them out and save some money!
WOW.. I got a kit from Strutmasters.com too. I really like the kit and the bright red springs!! I have to say that I was happy with the price of the kit and that it came with a lifetime warranty. I do say that I would order from them again anytime.
