I have this same problem with mine. May i ask you does your air ride system still function properly? Mine does not lower as it should and the door ajar warnign on the message center can cause the air ride not to function properly
There is a door switch with a black/orange wire and a black wire (goes to ground). The switch in the closed position (provides a path to ground) in the door open position. This supplies a signal also to the anti theft system. Get some one to push inward on the door from the out side and see if the light flickers or goes out. The switch is most likely defective I am not sure if the switch is in the drivers door jamb or part of the door lock mechanism inside the door in which case the trim panel needs to be removed to inspect the and test the switch.
This happens to me a couple times a year, especially when it gets cold. I just spray a lube (wd-40 or equivelant) on the door latch and the lower hinge at the front of the door. I actually get both hinges to stop queaks, but it's the lower one thats the culprit. the best spray I found is called xps lube from sea doo (Bombardier).
is there anyway to just disable the door ajar message? mine stays on but the light and door locks have no problems and work normal the message won't go away
