Can less than an ounce of fluid leak from the IP into the navigation system and cause electrical issues

one of my customers put a car vent clip in his car and said the clip leaked and the .28fl oz inside of it, leaked down his IP and into the navigation system thus causing the system to malfunction. Can liquid actually leak into a navi system and cause issues like this? Particularly less than an ounce of fluid?
