What is your question?
2009 Kia Rio 5, 84,500 miles, 1owner. Car was fine, then on the way to work one morning check engine light flashed yellow (as I was shifting from 4th to 5th on the highway) then turned solid red and the car began to shake. Replaced plugs, they were fouled. Husband checked the computer and the result was NO ERROR CODES. There was NO advanced warning that there was an issue. Car was handling fine then suddenly something went wrong while driving down the freeway. Note - the car is NOT being driven. It is currently a paperweight. Given it's age, it's only worth about $500, so paying for a tow truck to take it to a mechanic is NOT an economical choice. Update: I had the car towed to the dealership after they told me it may be a warranty issue. Low and behold it isn't...they say it's the ignition coils. Considering I can order the replacement parts for $146, appalled the dealership wants over $450 for the repairs. I'll have it towed home and replace them myself, tyvm.

Hello, do not drive the vehicle with a 'red' engine light. This will require professional evaluation using a proper high end diagnostic tool that can measure various parameters and components. A fuel control issue, for example, may not set a trouble code. However, if you have had a yellow check engine light at some point, there should be diagnostic trouble codes. The bottom line is that you would greatly benefit from the services of an experienced, skilled technician. Even though it may seem costly, doing without and guessing is actually more costly.
